The Division of Palliative Care coordinates regional palliative academic rounds twice a month. These one hour presentations are scheduled every 2nd Friday from 0800 – 0900h and currently are held at the Hospice at Maycourt in Ottawa and are available on the Ontario Telehealth Network (OTN). Communication Skills in Hospice Palliative Care
Free. Accredited education. Monday evenings. Sept 16 – Nov 18, 2019, from 6 – 9 p.m.

With Karen Massey

Students practice and apply different verbal and non-verbal communication strategies and explore the
impact of interpersonal dynamics on the palliative care experience. The use of role-play, reflective practice
techniques and small group discussion emphasizes the importance of communication in this setting.
